8 Reason Why You Should be Proud to be Filipino?

Obviously I’m writing this blog because I’m a Filipino, I born in the Philippines and I’m also willing to die here! Why? Because “I’m a Proud Pinoy” , kung nakikita mo yung mga nangyayari ngayon at nakikilala na tayong mga pinoy around the world at kung isa ka sa skeptic na tao maari sabihin mo “Oo nakikilala na tayo mga pinoy sa corruption, sa kahirapan at mga kalokohan” , kung yan ang perception mo sa bansang to wala ako magagawa dyan it’s your own perception and I respect that.

Pero I know you will also agree with me that we Filipinos are also known with Great Stuff! Like Manny Pacquiao,Gilas Pilipinas, Even our own Filipino Saints like Pedro Calungsod and San Lorenzo ruiz, Sa mga International Pageants, with our World Class talents like Charice Pempengco, Arnel Pineda ,Philippine All Star, Lea Salonga and so much more hindi na ren naten yun mabilang.

Sobra nakaka proud talaga maging isang Noypi , alam mo minsan yung mga negative na napapansin naten , What we focus is only the small fraction compare sa mga magandang nangyayari sa bansa naten. We human being our brain are program to focus on negative things simula pa nung unang panahon kase nuon eh uncivilized pa mga tao ginagamit nila ang kanilang Instinct kung meron ba sila mga nape-perceived na danger , like mga wild boar, wild lions, tigers and bear at iba pang mababagsik na hayop and also sa mga calamities, That is our thoughts pattern before.

Ang problema until now eh nakuha pa ren naten yun, Pero yung mga negative na experience na nang-yayari saten is nothing to compare on the great things that are happening into our life. Para bigyan kita ng analogy dito , ang mind naten is like a white bond paper sobrang puti tama? Pero kahit sobrang liit lang na dot ang isulat mo sa papel, kahit sobra liit lang nun ang focus naten eh saan? Hindi sa malaking portion na sobrang puti kundi dun sa napakaliit lang na tuldok and that is true minsan tayo mas nakikita naten ang problema instead of our blessing kahit na mas marami pa yung nangyayari maganda sa buhay naten.

I decide to make this article so that I can emphasize and focus more on the great things that we have being a Filipino that you will be proud of and there are so many things that we Filipinos possess that are uniquely on us, God is really great that He created us Filipino and I believe we have a role in this world and we can have a great impact in this nation if we will only focus on our strength not on our weaknesses. 

Today I will share to you 9 things why you should be proud to be a pinoy, I know napakarami pa ako pwde isulat dito but I think this 9 traits and characteristic na meron tayo ang nangingibabaw saten.

HOSPITALITY

We Filipino’s are known by this we are very accommodating right? sa taong ka-kikilala lang naten eh and even to the person that we don’t even know , sobra kilala talaga tayo sa  pagiging hospitable, Pag meron tayong bisita sa bahay eh grabe tayong mga pinoy gagastos pa talaga tayo sa bisita naten at nakakainum ka lang ng Coke kapag may bisita ka :) haha

At ilalabas mo pa yung pinaka - magandang mong plato at kutsara para sa bisita mo at willing pa tayong patulugin sila sa bahay naten kung sobra late na at ang malupit dun willing tayo ipagamit yung kwarto naten sa kanila kahit sa sofa at lapag lang tayo matulog.

Tuwing may birthday sa family naten magluluto tayo ng either spaghetti or pansit tapos ipapamimigay naten yun sa mga kapitbahay naten sobra the best tayo mga pinoy pag dating sa ganyan kaya nga tuwing Pasko dito sa Pinas eh sobra the best at walang katulad sa buong mundo and kung tatanungin mo yung mga OFW nateng kababayan lagi sinasabi nila na walang katulad dito sa Pinas.

BAYANIHAN

Sobra nangibabaw saten to tuwing nagkakaron ng mga calamities sa bansa naten kitang kita naten yung pagtutulungan nateng mga pinoy tama? Willing tayo tulungan yung mga kabitbahay naten , mga kaibigan naten at kahit hindi pa naten ka-anu –anu.

Kaninu ba naten to namana? The Word itself “BAYANI”-han , nakuha naten to sa mga ninuo nateng bayani like sila Dr Jose Rizal, Andre Bonifacio, Diego Silang pinakita nila saten nung nabubuhay sila yung pagiging selfless nila at willing silang ibigay yung buhay nila para makalaya tayo sa mga dayuhang sumakop sa bansa naten.

If you are a Filipino you should be proud of it because you have a blood of heroism that flow in your vein!

HAPPY PEOPLE

We are one of the happiest people in world according to survey! :) tayo mga pinoy likas saten ang nakangiti kahit may problem ka, kahit namatayan ka, kahit na nabagyo kana at naubos na yung buong ari –arian mo eh makukuha pa ren naten tumawa, WHY? Kitang kita yan ng buong mundo when Yolanda hit us! Sobra devastating talaga yun sateng mga pinoy.

It is one of the strongest typhoons in the world and history and it hit the Philippines. Pero anu ginawa nateng mga pinoy? Tinawanan lang naten ang Yolanda , I’m not saying that we are on denial and we don’t want to face our problems what I mean is we Filipino we face our problem with positive attitude and with smile on our face, sobra nabilib saten ang ibang lahi dahil sa ganito katangian naten.

In fact in US when they are hit by the hurricane kathrina cases of depression and suicide increase! But we Filipino kahit naubos na lahat saten we can still able to smile and it is very genuine to us Filipino!

HARDWORKING

Filipino are very hardworking people at sobra ma-diskrate tayong mga pinoy kahit na hindi nakapagtapos ng pag-aaral hindi yun magiging hadlang saten para umangat sa buhay at humahanap talaga tayo ng paraan para makaraos kahit anu trabaho eh kaya naten!

Kaya nga gusto gusto tayo ng mga foreign country eh, they really like our Pinoy OFW because we are so hardworking, we always do our job well, minsan nga kahit na hindi na naten trabaho ginawa naten eh kase likas na saten yun.

Kahit anu trabaho pa ipagawa saten we are so flexible and we always make sure that we do the best that we can, kaya hindi nako mag-tataka if we can able to rise again to the top as one of the richest country in the world kung matuturuan lang tayo mga pinoy more about in business and discipline tapos samahan mo pa ng Hard work, it is very possible and achievable! 

MATIISIN

We Filipinos are also known for this , kaya naten magtiis , kaya naten i-take ang hirap , kaya sobra nagkaron ng malaking impact sa mga pinoy ang Black Nazarene at Quiapo Church, dahil we can relate on Jesus Christ when He carry the cross and we Filipinos can really take any kind of suffering that we face at kaya nateng tiisin yun. Kahit nga tuyo lang ang ulam naten eh wala tayo reklamo di ba? At kahit araw araw pa kaya naten tiisin yun.

I have many friend and relatives that are OFW and sa mga experience nila abroad what they share to me kung panu sila nagtitiis para mawalay sa mahal nila sa buhay at para bigyan ng mganda future ang family nila eh sobra suludo at bilib talaga ako sa mga Pinoy Ofw.

I’m not saying na habang buhay lang tayo magtitiis at walang gagawin, no hindi yun, what i mean is along the way we are striving for a better life we can able to endure all things.

RESILIENT

Again sobra napakita naten to sa buong mundo when Yolanda came, for being resilient, to have a bounce back attitude, Never say die attitude!

I can compare Filipino to a bamboo Tree, Because even how hard the typhoon hit us and bends us on the ground we can able to rise again and move forward in life and that's  Filipino.

PINOY VALUES

I think on our values, Filipino is the best! Why? San ka ba makakita ng mga nag-mamano sa mga matatanda until now, only in the Philippines! Tinuro saten paanu rumespeto sa mga matatanda, at pag nagsasalita tayong mga pinoy lage may PO at OPO tama? Kahit nga kasing edad mo lang kausap mo eh , lage may kaduktong na PO! Tama po? Hahaha.. But this is true!

Kaya nga tama ang mga lolo at lola naten yung mga old values na pinamana at tinuro nila saten, yung pagiging conservative kaya nga nakilala ang mga Pinay sa pagiging ala Maria Clara right? Dahil sa mga values na minana naten at sana eh patuloy naten ituro to sa mga susunod na generation naten.

Okey lang magbago yung technology naten, the way we live, but the Old values should not be remove because it is one of the best!

CHRISTIAN FAITH

Philippines are known as the Only Christian nation! We should be proud on this , kase sa ibang bansa lalo na sa mga arab nation hindi na sila nakakapag celebrate ng mass dun and fellowship kung meron man eh underground, sa U.S nakita ko sa News even reading the bible eh ayaw ng teacher nila , in offices? Yung mga crucifix bawal yun, pati yung mga word na merong “God” and “Jesus” are not allowed because of secularism. Grabe di ba? At nakikita mo naman anu nangyari sa ISIS tama? Kung hindi sila magpapa convert sa islam they will kill you and beheaded you! Kaya napaka Swerte nateng mga Pinoy!

We are also the only country in the world that does not legalized abortion and divorce and that is because of our Christian Faith, life is very important to us and our family, and we really need to pray hard to protect our family and the divinity of life at wag na naten gayahin yung ginagawa sa ibang bansa, alisin na naten yung “Colonial Mentality” dahil hindi ibig sabihin na ginagawa ng lahat ay tama!

Here in the Philippines we are so bless because God gave us the Freedom to express our faith everywhere we go and share it to other people and do you think it’s a coincidence? Obviously not! Because there is no coincidence with God all his plan and ways are always the best.

We Filipino have a special role and mission in this planet and Filipino’s should embrace that plan, God chose us and we should respond to His call and I believe this with all my heart that Filipino will be known in the whole world as one of the best nation, as one of the prosperous country, as one of the great leader in the world, as one of the best missionary in the world why? Because of God’s favor, the bible says “But seeks first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

We Filipinos are known to be a God loving nation and I know God will honor that and believe me many years from now God will restore this nation in fact nang-yayari na nga yun ngayon, kung napapansin mo yung mga naglalabasang expose sa corruption at sa mga katiwalian part yan ng restoration ng Dyos, yung iba iniisip na negative yun at wala na talaga pagasa tong pinas but in my own perception it is God’s hand and He is pruning everything in this country and I believe He will send us the right leader and He will open the gates of heaven to flow His grace in this country. Some people will think I’m crazy and I’m hallucinating? :) believe me these things will happen!

Kaya you should be proud to be born a Filipino , darating ang araw na sasabihin ng mga foreign country na sana pinanganak din silang pinoy, sana Filipino Citizen din sila, sana sa pinas sila naktira, sana nakuha ren nila yung katangian nateng mga pinoy! Because of all the great things we will do in this world and the world ain't seen nothing yet! God eyes are on us Filipino, shine and bless the world!
