In our society today we define
leadership as Position, Power and Fame
and most people want to be on leadership position so that people will respect
them and serve them.
In reality ganun ang nangyayari pag ikaw
selfless and always think of others first.
This is the leadership style of Jesus and it was
demonstrated when He wash the feet of His apostles
Here is the Verse from John 13:1-17
It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that
the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having
loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had
already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew
that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from
God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer
clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to
wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around
him.
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”
Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but
later you will understand.”
“No,”
said Peter, “you shall never wash my
feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with
me.”
“Then,
Lord,” Simon Peter replied,
“not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
Jesus answered,
“Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is
clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” For he knew who was
going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.
When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his
clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for
you?” he asked them. “You call me
‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have
washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should
do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater
than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that
you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
Jesus is their king, their messiah and their savior tapos
hinugasan yung mga paa nila at pinag-sisilbihan sila kaya sobrang nagulantang
talaga sila sa nakita nila.
They are so humbled by that act from Jesus and He show them
the true leadership style and to do the same thing on other people that they will
serve.
Jesus is not just a great teacher, He also walk His talk!
All of His life He show us to be meek and humble because
it is the only way to gain power in the Kingdom of God.
“For
those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves
will be exalted.” Matthew
23:12
You know even other religious leader and
other denomination respect Jesus so much and they were impress by His
teachings, kahit na hindi sila Christian they believe in the teaching of Jesus
like Gandhi , medyo patama nga lang sateng mga Christian tong quotes na to (^_^)
Here are some views of Jesus on other religion and denomination.
If you're a leader of a company now or in
an organization or in business or in your community or church and in your family,
pero parang hindi sila sumusunod sayo, sumunod man parang pilit pa at parang
you become a manager to them not a leader.
What do I mean by that? A manager manage
people and they give direct order to people to follow them they use their
position and their title, you know according to John Maxwell it is the lowest
style of leadership by using your position and title that's why you have a hard
time to influence your people.
But the
leadership of Jesus is radical and it is the highest form of leadership
because Jesus did not even use His title, position or even power when He live
here on earth He is just an ordinary guy, he is poor, anak nga sya ng carpenter
di ba?
Why People follow Him? They follow him
because they sense His authority and conviction, they feel the sincerity of
unconditional love, nakaramdam sila ng acceptance He did not even condemn
people even if they are a sinner, kaya nga nakilala si Jesus as "Friend
of the sinner”.
Naramdaman nila yung authenticity ni
Jesus and by that people follow Him and trust Him, samantalang yung mga Pharisees
na sobrang alam na alam ang religion and they are also a bible scholar at
Why? kase self-righteous sila and people
are so intimidated by them because they condemn people so much , feeling nila
According to John Maxwell "people don't care how much
you know until they know how much you care"
This is the leadership of Jesus and if you want to
influence your family and your organization imitate this kind of Leadership.
"The
person who is greatest among you must be your servant." Matthew 23:11
To become a Radical Leader you must be a
leader that love and trust His people, a leader that lead himself, a leader
that are selfless, a leader that sacrifice himself for his people, a leader
that accept his responsibility, a leader that are so meek and humble, a leader
that walk his talk, a leader who accept his failure and most importantly a
leader that lead you closer to Jesus.
This is the best leadership style in the world!
I believe with all my heart if a leader of a country
follow this leadership style that country will prosper!
I just want to share this very practical tips of John Maxwell in choosing the right leader (^_^)
